While no American has done it since 2015, Jaelin Kauf is now in the driver’s seat to win the 2025 overall moguls World Cup season title.

Kauf, a Steamboat Springs Winter Sports club alum and 2022 Olympic silver medalist, has now won four consecutive World Cup events starting with a sweep of the events in Deer Valley earlier this month and ending with a sweep in Beidahu, China, on Friday and Saturday.

Kauf remains the fastest women’s moguls skier on the planet and utilized that strength in China, reaching the bottom of the singles course over 1.8 seconds quicker than the next fastest skier in the finals.

Kauf finished three points ahead of France’s Perrine Laffont, who holds the world No. 1 ranking in singles. Third place was fellow SSWSC alum Olivia Giaccio, who collected her sixth podium position of the season.

In duals, Kauf was faced with a rematch against Laffont in the Big Final. Kauf’s speed overwhelmed Laffont who was unable to keep pace, ultimately not finishing her run.

Saturday’s win counted as Kauf’s 13th career World Cup victory as she slides ahead of Laffont in the overall mogul standings, now 26 points ahead.

Kauf has finished second in the World Cup overall standings three times in her career. She is hungry to earn the crown this year.

“It’s super exciting [leading the overall], we still have a handful of competitions so I hopefully can hold that spot and keep building on today’s result,” Kauf said in a U.S. Ski and Snowboard news release.

With 12 events down, Kauf will compete in four more World Cup events this year. Next up is Almaty, Kazakhstan from Feb. 28-March 2.
