Steamboat cross country girls qualify for state, volleyball tops Summit

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The Steamboat Springs High School varsity girls and boys cross country teams traveled to Battle Mountain on Thursday, Oct. 18 for the Regional competition.

The varsity girls qualified for state, taking fourth overall in a tough field of competition.

The state championship will be at 2:20 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27 at Penrose Stadium in Colorado Springs.

Volleyball tops Summit

Steamboat Springs volleyball completed a two-game sweep of the Summit after a win at home on Thursday, Oct. 18. The Sailors last met the Tigers in Frisco on Sept. 27, winning in five sets.

On Thursday, the Sailors bested the Tigers in three sets, 25-22, 25-10, 25-15.

The Sailors have a nonconference matchup on Saturday, Oct. 20.
