Soroco runners post strong times
Steamboat Springs — Chloe Veilleux and Ben Kelley both ran strong races, leading the way for the Soroco High School cross country team Sept. 5 at a meet at Battle Mountain and now the team is preparing for a trip Friday to race at Eagle Valley.
Veilleux, a freshman and the only girl on the team, was ninth in the 85-finisher field and finished the 5-kilometer course in 23 minutes, 57 seconds.
Kelley, a sophomore, was 10th in the boys race in 19:51.
Joshua Taing was 90th on the boys side in 27:39, Grant Redmond 97th in 29:07 and Brad Veilleux was 93rd in 28:19.
