Soroco, Hayden volleyball teams fall at districts

The season came to an end for both the Soroco and the Hayden high school volleyball teams on Friday as they each went 0-2 in the District 5 tournament.
The Tigers came the closest to picking up a win in pool play, taking Vail Christian to a fifth set for the second time this month. Vail managed to escape the first time, however, and it did so again Friday. Meeker, meanwhile, won against Hayden in three sets.
Soroco took one set off Vail Mountain but ended up losing in four sets. It also lost to West Grand in three.
The Rams finished the season 9-12, while Hayden was 5-15.
Paonia went on to win the district, beating both Meeker and West Grand in three-set sweeps.
