Soroco girls basketball improves to 4-1 with North Park win

Joel Reichenberger

The Soroco High School girls added another win to their hot start to the season, knocking off North Park on Tuesday night, 39-29, to improve to 4-1.

The Rams rallied from a 20-15 halftime deficit, ratcheting up the defense in the second half.

“Conditioning really paid off. The girls played really hard in the second half. They were running up and down the floor and finally got some easier shots,” coach David Bruner said.

Briana Peterson led the team with 13 points. Jacey Schlegel had 10, and Haley Johnson had nine. Bruner said Josie Rossi in particular shone on defense, racking up at least 10 blocks.
