Soroco football falls at West Grand

Soroco High School Rams

West Grand High School football team was resilient Friday, answering every Soroco score with one of its own.

It also scored when the Rams didn’t, and that added up to a big victory that put the Mustangs in the driver’s seat for the 8-man Northwest league championship.

West Grand won, 46-22.

“They outplayed us,” Soroco coach Dick Dudas said. “We could not stop them, defensively. When you play a good team like that, that’s well coached, you have to execute well. We didn’t, and they were worthy of the victory.”

The loss drops the Rams to 5-3 on the season and ends their chance at the league title.

Soroco got a pair of touchdowns from Jace Logan and one on a pass from Isaac Jonas to Sarvis Anarella. That wasn’t enough to overcome the Mustangs, however.

“We’re just not executing well at all,” Dudas said. “I don’t know what the problem is. That’s one of the things we’ll try to figure out.”

The Rams will wrap up their regular season schedule next week at home against Hayden.
