Soccer team will travel to playoff
Steamboat Springs — The Steamboat Springs High School girls soccer team will open the regional playoffs at 5 p.m. Thursday in Montrose.
The Montrose Indians earned the right to host the regional game after finishing as the top seed in the Southwestern Conference. The Indians were 3-5-2 in conference games and 5-6-2 overall.
Steamboat finished second in the Western Slope Conference with a 4-1-1 record in conference games and a 11-4-1 record overall.
The Montrose team tied Grand Junction Central last weekend in a 2-2 contest despite being outshot 25-7 in the game.
