Smoke in Oak Creek is from fire training exercise

Oak Creek Fire Protection District crews train in Oak Creek in 2010. Fire districts are preparing for cuts because of projected decreases in property values.

— The smoke in downtown Oak Creek this afternoon is a result of a training exercise for the Oak Creek Fire Protection District, fire officials at the scene said. Routt County Communications dispatchers received at least one call from a concerned resident this afternoon.
