Community members are invited to participate, donate or cheer on teams in the 11th annual Ski for Parkinson’s outdoor fundraiser event scheduled for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at Haymaker Nordic Center in south Steamboat Springs.

The event raises awareness and crucial funding for those living with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners in the Yampa Valley. All proceeds will benefit the programs and services provided by Parkinson Association of the Rockies.

The theme for this year’s Ski for Parkinson’s is “Outta this World!” Teams registered, ranging from Space Cadets to Usual Suspects, are encouraged to wear costumes. The cost is $85 per person for ski, snowshoe or snow bike with brunch, or $60 per person for brunch only.

Admission includes an all-day cross-country ski, skate ski, snow bike or snowshoe trail pass and a drawing for prizes. Equipment rental is not included.

Registration is available in person at the event on Sunday. For questions, contact Elisabeth Braun at ebraun@parkinsonrockies.org or 303-830-1839.

Parkinson Association of the Rockies offers support groups, exercise classes and educational seminars in the Yampa Valley.
