Saturday marks 25th annual National Public Lands Day

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Planning a road trip to Rocky Mountain National Park this fall?

Visit the park or any other national parks on Saturday for free to celebrate National Public Lands Day.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of National Public Lands Day with a focus on restoration and resilience of public lands. It also marks the 50th anniversary of the National Trails System and National Wild & Scenic Rivers System.

Other ways to celebrate include volunteering and taking part in favorite outdoor activities. To take part in a volunteer work project, the National Parks Service offers a map online that details volunteer events happening locally and regionally.
