Sailors lacrosse, tennis postponed
Weather delays home action today and Saturday
Steamboat Springs — Today and Saturday’s home Steamboat Springs High School lacrosse games and tennis matches have been postponed. Steamboat lacrosse was scheduled to play at 3 p.m. today against Grand Valley and at 3 p.m. Saturday against Durango. Both visiting schools called the game off because of worries about driving conditions.
Steamboat girls tennis was scheduled to play at 4 p.m. today against Vail Mountain and at 3:30 p.m. Saturday against Denver East. Those coaches also cited weather concerns. No make-up dates have yet been scheduled for tennis.
Sailors lacrosse coach Bob Hiester also said make-up games have yet to be announced. Steamboat lacrosse is currently 6-0 on the season and in sole possession of first place in the Mountain Conference. Hiester said the postponements mean the Sailors will have a torrid schedule the rest of the year.
The next scheduled lacrosse game is at 4 p.m. Tuesday, at home against Eagle Valley.
