Sailors girls basketball falls in close contest with Niwot

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The Steamboat Springs High School (2-8) girls basketball team fell to Niwot (3-5) in a heartbreaking loss on Friday, Jan. 4.

The Sailors led for much of the game, but with less than a minute to go, the Cougars sunk in two free throws to seal the game-winning score 29-27.

Junior Jaycee May led the Sailors with seven points while junior Katie Lake had six. The Sailors made 13 out of 14 of their free throws.
