There will be a cost associated with discarding materials. Cash and checks will be accepted. This event is for household hazardous waste including:
- Paint. There will be no charge for dropping off paint at this event.
- Poisons or toxic materials such as pesticides, fertilizers, or mercury paint.
- Aerosol containers such as spray paint, insect killer, carburetor cleaners or hair-spray pesticides.
- Flammable materials such as gasoline, kerosene, roofing tar, lighter fluid or acetone batteries.
- Corrosive materials including acids, Drain-O, deck wash, lye or caustic cleaners.
- Oxidizers or reactives such as bleach, chlorine or swimming pool chemicals.
- Most household cleaners unless otherwise labeled.
The drop-off event will not take other items such as mattresses or electronics. However, the Recycle Depot just west of downtown Steamboat Springs does accept those hard-to-recycle items.
