Routt County treasurer reminds residents property tax payment deadline is April 30

Routt County Treasurer and Public Land Trustee Lane Iacovetto reminds taxpayers that April 30 is the deadline for paying the full amount of residents’ property taxes.

The deadline only applies to property owners who choose to pay their taxes in one installment and who have not previously submitted their first half payment in February.

Routt County offers several ways to pay property taxes:

  • Pay online at co.routt.co.us/213/Property-Tax
  • Mail payment to Routt County Treasurer at 522 Lincoln Ave., Suite 22, Steamboat Springs, CO 80487
  • Drop payment by the Routt County Treasurer office or in the 24-hour tax payment box
  • If a resident would like to pay in person, the office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Iacovetto asks that residents include the “full payment” coupon from their original tax notice that was mailed in January with payment. Additionally, residents whose property taxes are paid by a mortgage escrow account should contact their mortgage company if they have questions or want more information regarding payments, according to Iacovetto.

Failure to meet property tax payment deadlines will result in the assessment of delinquent interest and possible fees for late payment, per the Colorado Revised Statutes.
