Routt County to conduct public alert system test Wednesday

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Routt County and its emergency response partners will conduct a hazardous material response exercise Wednesday, Oct. 24.

The Routt County Emergency Operations Department will be sending a test message through Routt County Alerts between 8:30 and 9 a.m. to assess the county’s public warning system.

County residents and visitors may receive an alert through the television, radio or their cellphones. No public action is required for this test. To sign up to receive alerts, visit or call 970-870-5532.
