A. Five years ago: skiing, biking — the usual.

Q. What’s the biggest risk you’ve taken recently?

A. Just bought a CNC machine for the garage hobbies. We make custom medals for fun.

Q. Describe your morning routine.

A. To the office by 7 a.m., coordinate with field superintendents, push paperwork, get to Ciao Gelato for coffee.

Q. Has a book ever changed your life? What was it and why?

A. The 2006 Building Code

Q. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

A. There are three types of people — those who watch it happen, those who make it happen and those who ask, ‘What happened?’

Q. What three things would you want people to know about you?

A. Hard worker, honest and none of it happens without my wife, Laurie.

Q. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A. Architect/builder

Q. If you could invite any four people to dinner, who would they be and what would you talk about?

A. Trunks, Tanner, Letson, Chip — We’d drink PBR and talk dirt bikes and ski racing.

Q. Do you collect anything?

A. Ski racing medals (At least I try to.)

Q. What was your first job?

A. Lawn routes as a kid, of course, and then I made a wrong turn and ended up in field construction. Somehow. I love it.

Q. Who is your favorite superhero? Why?

A. Bode Miller

Q. Do you have any phobias?

A. Attorneys

Q. If you could go back in time, to what event or time period would you go?

A. Teen years of dirtbiking, skiing and goofing off without responsibilities

Q. What is your favorite thing to do in Routt County?

A. Deep powder skiing in Shadows
