news@steamboatpilot.com
On Tuesday, March 15, Routt County Commissioners extended the local disaster declaration regarding COVID-19 for the 25th time.
The declaration has been extended until April 27. Gov. Polis first issued a statewide emergency declaration for the pandemic on March 10, 2020. Routt County continues to extend its declaration every month.
According to the county, the declaration serves an administrative tool that can help facilitate access to funding and other resources. The declarations being issued by states, counties and cities across the country have helped make resources available for the response and recovery efforts.
