Routt County adoptable pets: Max the dog and Pumbaa the cat

Max is a 2-year-old, 62-pound male “super mutt,” which means his breed mix is a mystery. This tall and handsome guy loves long walks and taking in all the smells around him. Max was transferred in from Dumont, Colorado, where he was surrendered due to his family moving. Now that he’s in Steamboat, we know he will be a magnificent mountain dog. This bright-eyed dude is very intelligent and eager to learn. He knows all his basic commands and even knows how to greet people with a hand shake like a true gentleman. Max is dog friendly, loves to romp and play with new friends, is well behaved with good manners and never messes in his kennel. He is young-spirited, active and playful, but he also knows when it’s time to settle down for the night. If you’re looking for an adventure buddy by day and a couch potato by night, this super dog is just what you’ve been looking for. Go down to Routt County Humane Society to meet this great pup.

Pumbaa is a 9-month-old, strikingly handsome long-haired cat weighing in at 9 pounds. This sweet boy loves belly rubs and long catnaps in his favorite cat bed. Pumbaa, being the young fellow he is, loves playing with all kinds of toys and is great with other kitties. Not only is Pumbaa handsome, he is also very personable, enjoys talking to you and adjusts to new people and places easily. This cat would love a big family with lots of attention to go around. Go meet this gorgeous, gregarious, grey gentleman today and fall in love at Routt County Humane Society.
