Routt County adoptable pets: Mama Mia the cat and Missy the dog

Mama Mia is a lovely 4-year-old domestic shorthair brought to the shelter as a pregnant stray. She actually gave birth to five kittens the following day. With a sweet and loving personality, she was a wonderful mother, but with the kittens weened and on their own, she is ready to find her forever family. Mama Mia is gentle, playful and loves people. She would prefer to be the only cat in her home but gets along with dogs and enjoys laying in the sunshine as often as she can.

Missy is a fun-loving 3-year-old Labrador mix weighing in at 43 pounds. She has a bouncy personality, is very smart and wiggles her butt all day. Missy was transferred from Pueblo and is looking forward to the mountain life. She is dog friendly and would love a canine companion to play and take naps with. Her ideal human is active and will take her for runs, hikes and long walks. Missy can be a bit nervous around small children — she doesn’t have experience with them — and the Routt County Humane Society staff recommends an adult home or a home with older children. She is a wonderful and sweet girl ready to meet her forever family.
