Routt County adoptable pets: Louie the cat and Opie the dog

Louie is an extra-large, 2-year-old, male domestic shorthair cat weighing about 14 pounds. Louie loves to snuggle and show his affection for people whenever he can. He arrived at the shelter with his brother and best friend, Oscar, due to allergies in the home. Louie loves to chill out with other cats, enjoys the company of most dogs and does well with any person he meets. He loves to be scratched around his ears and face. He’s just an easy-going dude waiting for his second chance at a forever family.

Opie is a sweet pup looking for a forever home to finally call his own. This 7-year-old male Labrador weighs in at 78 pounds. He is a gentle soul who is playful and extremely sweet. His hobbies include sharing anything you may be eating at any given moment of the day and snuggling in close for as many pets as he can get. He loves playing fetch and swimming too, as he is a retriever after all. Opie’s ideal home would be a one where he is the only pet and where there are plenty of treats and kisses to go around. No cats please. He also prefers older children who can respect his space when he needs it. Opie would love to show you his dinner dance every night. He is dog-social with medium to large-sized dogs and enjoys play-dates, but he has shown his caretakers that he would prefer to be the only dog living in his home. Opie is originally from Oklahoma and is excited about starting his new life in the mountains.
