Routt County adoptable pets: Chuck Norris the cat and Kirby the dog

A 5-year-old cuddly, loving domestic short hair cat, Chuck Norris is ready to be your best furry friend. Weighing 14 pounds, he is ready to shower you with attention and let you know how much he loves you. Chuck Norris came to Routt County Humane Society as a stray and was never claimed. He is feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) Positive, so he will need to be an inside cat only. Cats who are infected with FIV may not show symptoms until years after the initial infection occurred. Although the virus is slow acting, a cat’s immune system is severely weakened once the disease takes hold. This makes the cat susceptible to various secondary infections.

A super handsome 2-year-old Collie/Shepherd mix weighing 51 pounds, Kirby is ready to find his forever home. He is very social, loves to play with other dogs, splash around in the pool, chase balls and squeaky toys and get in as many hugs as he can from humans. Kirby does not like moving vehicles, especially trucks, and gets upset if they get to close. He has made a lot of progress, but his new family will need to continue his training. Kirby will do best living in a quiet area or neighborhood with limited traffic and possibly some acreage or a large yard to spend time.
