Rose fast in Vermont XC racing

Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club alum Mary Rose skis last weekend in a Vermont race. She shined in a series of events, winning one and placing second in another.

— Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club alum Mary Rose was lighting fast on her skis at a series of U.S. Super Tour cross country skiing events in Craftsbury, Vermont, over the weekend, earning the best results of her career.

Rose skied through a stellar career at University of Colorado and now is skiing for the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation based out of California.

She won a Saturday 10-kilometer freestyle race. Her time of 30 minutes, 10.3 seconds gave her a 10.2 second advantage at the finish line.

A day later, she was right there again, placing second in a 10K classic skiing mass start race. She came in at 33:24.9, 0.9 seconds off the day’s champion, Rebecca Rorabaugh.

Rose is now off to Europe to compete on the circuit one step below the World Cup.
