RODNEY F. GUIRE
1912-2001
Rodney F. Guire, former Steamboat Springs resident, died of natural causes August 6, 2001, in Grand Junction. He was 89.
Rodney was born Feb. 21, 1912, to Andrew J. and Lula E. Guire in Norwood. He was a twin and had one other brother. A lot of his childhood days were spent chasing wild donkeys. He married Rosanna Linn in Steamboat Springs Sept. 22, 1934, and they had four children.
He went to work in a coal mine at a very early age. He had his Shot Firer’s Certificate from the state of Colorado and First-Aid from Bureau of Mines. He retired from The Pittsburg & Midway Coal Co. in 1974.
Rodney was a member of Jehovah’s Witness and spent most of his retired years doing what he liked best, being with and talking to people.
He is survived by one daughter, Darlene, two grandsons and one great-granddaughter of Grand Junction. Rodney will be missed very much by everyone that knew him.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. August 18, 2001, at The Kingdom Hall on Elk River Road in Steamboat Springs.
