ReTree volunteer days start Sept. 27

Community volunteers are needed to help plant tree saplings for half-day ReTree projects on Sept. 27, Oct. 5 and Oct. 11.

Nonprofit Yampa Valley Sustainability Council is looking for volunteers to help with the 16th annual ReTree events set for Sept. 27, Oct. 5 and Oct. 11 in Routt County.

The organization invites volunteers of all ages to plant tree saplings along the banks of the Yampa River at Chuck Lewis State Wildlife Area south of Steamboat Springs and at Flanders Ranch near Hayden. Volunteers will receive a free T-shirt and snacks.

The volunteer days will take place 8:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 27 and Oct. 5 at Chuck Lewis State Wildlife Area as well as on Oct. 11 at Flanders Ranch in Hayden. Volunteers should sign up in advance at YVSC.org/events.
