Rams lock up district spot with win

Oak Creek — The postseason may still be a few matches away, but the Soroco High School volleyball team locked up the spot it cherished in the district tournament thanks to a win Friday night at home against Plateau Valley.
The Rams won on senior night, 28-26, 25-19, 29-27.
“The girls are just getting better and better,” coach Jeannie Jo Logan said. “They’re really reading the ball and learning how to adjust and make the smarter plays. They’re really on the upward swing right now.”
That upward swing has the team locked into seventh place in the district, meaning it won’t have to play a play-in pigtail match.
“That was a goal,” Logan said. “We reached that goal. The girls are doing better and better, and that’s what you want right now.”
Soroco, 9-8 and 6-4, next plays Tuesday at home against Vail Mountain.
