Psychologist planning to hold regular office hours in Hayden
Hayden — A longtime Steamboat Springs psychologist has opened an office in Hayden to give counseling on relationship and family issues and drug and alcohol addiction.
Chris Young is offering her services once a week at an office on the top floor of the Solandt Medical Clinic, 150 Jackson Ave.
Since Aug. 9, Young has been coming to Hayden every Thursday to meet with clients. Her office hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“I’m really looking forward to my involvement in Hayden,” Young said. “I thought this would be a good opportunity because there are people in Hayden who would rather go to someone in town rather than having to drive to Steamboat Springs or Craig.”
For more than 20 years, Young has been a licensed psychologist. Her focus throughout the years has been on relationships and children, and she is also a certified counselor for drug and alcohol addiction.
Young got the idea of coming to Hayden once a week when she started training to become an emergency medical technician for West Routt Ambulance last fall.
This past May, Young completed the training and is a volunteer EMT for the ambulance service.
During that time, she enjoyed working in Hayden, she said.
“I like the people and the atmosphere,” she said. “I decided I would like to open an office in Hayden.”
