Power outage impacts 1,200 Steamboat Springs customers

— Power went out to about 1,200 customers in Steamboat Springs Thursday morning.

Yampa Valley Electric Association spokeswoman Tammi McKenzie said the outage was caused by a problem with an underground cable in the Fish Creek Falls Road area. Power was restored to most customers within an hour.

The outage occurred at about 5:55 a.m., and power was restored to all customers by 8:15 a.m.
