Police station committee applications will be accepted through March 12

Community members who want to help the city of Steamboat Springs build a new police station can now apply for the job online at the city’s website or in person at City Hall.

Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. Thursday, March 12.

The Steamboat Springs City Council will then interview and select the seven citizen members of the committee.

The application can be found online here.

The committee will dive into the scope of the building and financing options for it. It also will recommend a cost-effective place to construct the station and explore potential partnerships with other government organizations and local businesses.

After it is seated, the committee will be asked to complete its work and make recommendations to the council by Aug. 1.
