STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Students from Mountain Village Montessori Charter in Steamboat Springs partnered with Casey’s Pond to put on a sock hop May 16 at the senior living community. The kids made poodle skirts, photo booths, 1950s crossword puzzles and bingo games. The event also included dancing, a limbo contest and lots of food.

The sock hop was the culmination of a program of the Service Leadership group, made up of Montessori sixth-graders, who studied various topics from the 1950s and then shared their perspectives with residents of Casey’s Pond once a month.
