Phippsburg pair part of missing horse incident
Steamboat Springs — A Phippsburg couple was arrested for their involvement with a missing horse.
Eugene and Christine Fox were arrested and charged on Friday with criminal conspiracy and shipping prior to inspection by the Routt County Sheriff’s Office.
Sgt. Richard Wood said the couple was involved in the disappearance of a horse, whose owner lives in Steamboat.
The owner was told the horse had died, but then the animal turned up in Massachusetts, Wood said.
Wood on Sunday could not give more details about the arrest.
The couple posted bond on Friday and were released from custody.
