Paul Wellman: A little peace on earth

The Senate is poised to vote to end U.S. military support for the war on Yemen.

According to the U.N., Yemen is the site of the world’s greatest humanitarian crisis. Since 2015, more than 60,000 have died in the violence. At least 85,000 children under 5 have starved to death. Tens of millions are on the brink of starvation while catastrophic outbreaks of cholera devastate the country.

Strangely the butchering of Jamal Khashoggi has grabbed our attention and spurred our representatives to act. If that is what it takes, to get our attention, I guess Khashoggi didn’t die in vain.

I highly suggest everyone contact their reps and let them know you are watching.

This action is long overdue.

How about a little peace on earth for the holidays?

Paul Wellman
