Paul Stettner: No one, even the President, is above the law

Open letter to Sen. Cory Gardner and Congressman Scott Tipton:

After a foreign country meddled in our elections and the President potentially obstructed justice to cover it up, I demand that you, as well as our other elected representatives in Congress, get to the bottom of what happened and do everything possible to ensure it does not happen again.

Instead, many Republicans in Congress are covering for Trump at every turn — denigrating the FBI, spreading conspiracy theories and attacking the integrity of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. An attempt to impeach Rosenstein is just a flimsy pretext for Trump and his minions to derail Mueller’s investigation.

After multiple indictments — and guilty pleas — from top Trump associates, the idea that Mueller’s investigation isn’t warranted is absurd. The very integrity of our democracy is being attacked and by your silence you are complicit.

We Americans deserve to know the full truth of what happened so tell the President loud and clear, “No one is above the law.”

Respectfully,

Paul Stettner
