STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The one-night only collaboration between Opera Steamboat and Advocates Building Peaceful Communities — “Our Voices Will Be Heard” — will take the stage at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 at the Strings Music Pavilion.

Two short operas by American composer Jake Heggie will be performed, accompanied and directed by an all-female ensemble. The opera “To Hell and Back” involves a dialogue between a mother and the woman her son is abusing, and “Into the Fire” is the story of a female sculptor living under the shadow of her more famous male mentor.

Ticket sale proceeds will be donated to Advocates, a nonprofit in Routt County dedicated to providing support to the survivors of sexual and domestic violence.
