Judy Black

July 25, 1949 — June 23, 2018

Judy Black (Ramsey) passed peacefully with her family on June 23, 2018.

Judy was born in Cleveland, OH to Nancy and James Black. She moved out west to Colorado in her twenties. She was a teacher at Strawberry Park Elementary in Steamboat Springs, CO. She taught 5th grade and more recently she was the art teacher. Students and teachers would know her as Mrs. Ramsey or Ms. Black.

She was an artist, teacher and an advocate for what she believed was right. She cared deeply for her family & friends, her church and the children that she taught.

She is survived by her two children, Jenny Chavez and Matt Ramsey and her three grandchildren James, Avery and Lucas Chavez.

A service will be held for her at 10AM on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Mike Ramsey’s home at 26885 Placer Place, Clark , CO 80428. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Steamboat Springs School District to purchase art supplies for the elementary students at Strawberry Park. Checks can be made out to Strawberry Park Elementary and they can be mailed to the address below or collected at the service.
