Cannon

January 31, 1941 – November 24, 2020

Long time local, father, brother, and most of all EXTRAORDINARY Alpine ski coach Tom Cannon passed November 24, 2020 after a brief battle with COVID-19. He is survived by his son TJ, daughter Molly, sister Anne (niece Heather), and ex wife Barb.

Born January 31, 1941 in State College, Pa Tom was an exceptional athlete, his sport of choice being alpine skiing. His passion led him all over the US and Europe, including the Garmisch Ski Patrol. He landed in Steamboat Springs in the early 1970’s. Steamboat became his home base while he coached the up and coming racers from the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club all the way to the US Ski Team. The only thing that brought him as much joy as skiing were his children TJ and Molly. He is already missed dearly.
