Sandra “Sandy” Jean Childers, 91, passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2026. Born and raised in Eagle, Colorado, she married Robert Childers and raised three children: Robert (Bob), Denise, and Cynthia (Cindy). In 1965, the family moved to Steamboat Springs, where Sandy cherished her community and enjoyed working at the local junior high school. An artist at heart, she loved painting, photography, and gardening. Preceded in death by her husband and daughter Denise, she is survived by son Bob, daughter Cindy (John), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. A celebration of her life will be held 10-12pm, Saturday, June 20, 2026 at the Steamboat Springs Christian Center. For a full obituary please visit yampavalleyfh.com
