Obituary: Jay Conan Baverstock

October 24, 1942 — November 27, 2019

 Jay Conan Baverstock passed away, on November 27, 2019.  Jay was born on October 24, 1942 in Long Beach, California.  He graduated from Wilson High School and after graduation went on to become a Fireman where he earned a Medal of Valor for saving a life.  Jay married his wife Marci in 1970 and together they had two sons.   Upon retirement from the fire department, Jay, Marci and their two sons Casey and Corky moved to Steamboat Springs in order to pursue a life of the outdoors.  Jay and Marci owned the restaurant The Shack Café in Steamboat Springs for many years.  In 2017, Marci passed away and after her death, Jay moved fulltime to Oro Valley in Tucson Arizona where the couple had a home and loved spending their winter months together there. In Tucson, Jay was able to continue his love for the outdoors. Jay enjoyed shooting clay pigeons as a hobby and he was passionate about woodcarving and painting.  Jay’s beloved wife Marci precedes him in death.  Jay is survived by son Casey, grandson Marcus, son Corky and daughter-in-law Candace, siblings Joan and Jon and numerous nieces and nephews.  A celebration of life will take place in summer of 2020.
