Obituary: Jamie Mangus

On Sunday, January 12, 2020, Jamie Lee Mangus, our funny and kind son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, and friend passed away at the age of 36.

Jamie was born on April 15, 1983 in Steamboat Springs, CO to Ron and Anne Mangus. He was the youngest of four siblings and grew up in beautiful wintery Steamboat surrounded by his loving family and friends. Jamie had an early love of hockey and played goalie for the Steamboat Braves as a teen; his love for hockey continued and he enjoyed watching and cheering for the Colorado Avalanche. Jamie took up snowboarding at a young age and could ride and navigate all areas both in and out of bounds on Mt Warner effortlessly. Jamie also enjoyed and often spent time cooking, camping, and fishing. His laugh was genuine and loud, his personality was kind yet feisty, his heart was big and strong from the beginning to the end. He was a good man and will be missed.

Jamie was preceded in death by his father, Ron Mangus. He is survived by his mother, Anne Mangus of Steamboat Springs, CO, his siblings; Ashlee (Mike) Niethammer of Chagrin Falls, OH, Shea (Kelly) Mangus of Steamboat Springs, CO, and Caitlin (Chad) Patterson of San Diego, CA; four nieces, two nephews; paternal grandmother, June Mangus of Denver, CO, and maternal grandmother, Bertha McFarlane of Alton, IL; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Please make any contributions in his memory to your local hospice organization. Celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
