Tony Webb 29 passed away on May 15, 2016 in Craig Colorado.Tony was born in Springerville, Arizona on May 5, 1987. Tony’s first year was spent in St. Johns Arizona with his mother and grandparents returning to Craig in May of 1988. Tony attended school in Moffat County for his entire school career. In his high school years he acquired a passion for welding and was an active member of 4-H and FFA where he made numerous friends and developed many skills in raising livestock. Tony spent many hours and years tending to his steers and pigs. To encourage his agriculture activities he was able to attend the National Western Stock Show where he participated in the catch-a-calf competition; he was lucky enough to catch a calf to bring home to raise. Tony graduated from Moffat County High School in 2005. After graduating from high school Tony went to work for Jay Forbes where he was able to expand on his welding expertise.
For a brief time he worked at Axis Steel as a welder; after this experience he was able to join the UA Local 145 Plumbers and Pipefitters out of Grand Junction. After joining the union he had the opportunity to work with many different companies and power plants as a welder. At the time of Tony’s passing he was employed at Trapper Mine where he had worked since 2012.
Tony was a loyal friend to many and enjoyed spending time outside hunting, camping, fishing, rock crawling, and 4 wheeling in Moab with friends and family. Other activities Tony enjoyed with his friends and family were golfing and shooting squirrels at the ranch. Tony had the best stocked kitchen of any bachelor ever. As he entered adulthood he developed a passion for cooking and canning, which he shared with all. Tony was very attentive to his Grandma Dorothy and enjoyed spending time with his nieces.
He is survived by his parents Mary Martinez and Jay Updike. His furry children Charlie and Shelly. His sister Bailee Porter (Gabe Harger) nieces Riley Abney and Maci Harger. His brother Justin Updike (Amber) and nieces Paisley and Oakley. Grandma Dorothy Webb. Grandparents Gene and Illena Updike. Stepfather Stan Martinez. Step-Grandma Sally Martinez. Grandparents Bill and Debbie Porter. Numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins and was predeceased by Grandpa and Best Friend Bill Webb, Aunt Kathy Combs and Uncle Jim Simpson.
