Virginia L. Harvey

Clifton resident, Virginia L. Harvey, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014, at the Memorial Hospital in Craig, CO surrounded by family. She was 93. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 6, 2014, at the Craig Cemetery in Craig, CO. A celebration of Virginia’s life will also be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 12, 2014, at the Clifton Christian Church in Clifton, CO. Virginia L. Mock was born to Virgil and Edna (Diamond) Mock on January 26, 1921, in Fowler, CO. She grew up in Canon City, CO where she graduated with the Canon City High School class of 1939. On January 13, 1940, Virginia married the love of her life, Frank J. Harvey. To this union, three daughters were born. They celebrated more than 66 years of marriage before his death in 2006. During their marriage they resided in Fairplay, Steamboat Springs, Grand Junction, and Craig, CO before moving to Clifton in 1979. Wherever they were, Virginia worked beside Frank managing his business office and doing the bookwork. Virginia served as the Park County, Colorado Assessor in the early 70’s. She was a past Worthy Matron of Anita Chapter 41, OES in Craig. She was active in her church wherever she lived. She enjoyed traveling, camping, boating and fishing. A beloved mother and grandmother, she was happiest when with her family. She will be greatly missed. Virginia is survived by her two daughters, Virginia Lee Allen and her husband, Leonard, of Battlement Mesa, CO and Donna Jean Morrison of Craig, CO, and two granddaughters, Susan Allen of Colorado Springs, CO , and Denise Conard and her husband, Tod, of Collbran, CO. Her daughter, Annette Marie Taylor, and son-in-law, Jerry Morrison, preceded her in death. Contributions may be made to the Clifton Christian Church in lieu of flowers.
