Ben Craig Zamzow

Beloved son of Darren and Carrroll Zamzow and older brother to Bodie Zamzow.

Ben Craig Zamzow came to us in an early season snowstorm. He left us in the same conditions, doing what he loved more than anything in the world. He is a spirit and fire that truly will never be extinguished. A bundle of energy, Ben was known to the entire North Routt Community and his loss is shared across the Yampa Valley.

An avid outdoorsman at an early age, favorite activities were skiing, traveling, biking, crystal hunting on Hahns Peak, road trips with Dad, hunting and fishing with his Mom, river trips and his most passionate pursuit – SNOWMOBILING! He was often seen tearing up the wilderness on his sled and enjoying the playground we have here in NW Colorado.

During his down time (what little there was of it), he scanned the internet with his Dad for sleds and parts for his ultimate snowmobile.

He leaves behind little brother Bodie, age 7. Bodie’s admiration for his older brother saw no bounds. Together they were a mischievous duo prone to mayhem.

A lover of animals, Ben showed his soft side when with the family pets. He was an ardent admirer of wildlife and the outdoors which he grew to love.

The North Routt Charter School motto is to teach the children to “Spread Their Wings and Soar like Eagles”…. and Soar he did. All thanks to the staff there for providing Ben with the environment to grow to the young man he was, for he was aged far beyond his years.

In lieu of flowers, donations to be sent to Ben Zamzow Memorial Fund, Mountain Valley Bank. Contributions to be made to the North Routt County Charter School Music Program.
