Ardith Engleman Cooper

Ardith Engleman Cooper was born on Oct. 1, 1923, in Craig, the daughter of Andrew Edwin and Lulubelle (Stubblefield) Engleman. She was raised and attended school in Craig graduating from Craig High School in 1941.
Following high school, Ardith and her twin sister, Edith, worked for a time in Denver at The Denver Post.
She married Russell L. Cooper on July 22, 1950, in Raton, N.M. They made their home in Craig with their three children. Ardith was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her yard, was fond of music playing the piano and the accordion.
Ardith died June 10, 2013, at The Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was 89.
Ardith is survived by her daughters, Lisa Steele, and husband, Ken, and Edye Posey, and husband, Kevin, all of Meeker; her son Jim Cooper, of Hamilton. Her grandchildren Jacob Posey, Selena and Shelby Steel, Brandon (Anita) and Amy Cooper; her great grandchildren Morgan and Cord Cooper; her twin sister Edith McLean, of Craig; and her brother Jack (Bud) Engleman, of Billings, Mont. She also is survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russ; her parents; her brothers Gerald and Marvin (Boots) Engleman; her sisters Ruth Weatherford and Avis Siebott; and her daughter-in-law Trixie Cooper.
A funeral service took place June 14, 2013, at the New Creation Church with Pastor Jason Haskell officiating. Interment followed in Craig Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Moffat County Humane Society, in care of Grant Mortuary.
