George Richard Evanas

George R. Evans was born Oct. 25, 1951, in Craig, the son of John and Norma (Henry) Evans. George was raised on the Snake River and attended school in Baggs, Wyo.
He married Sandra Kay Jones on July 3, 1970, in Baggs. They made their home in Baggs and became the parents of four children. George was a rancher and also worked as a field operator in the oil fields.
George enjoyed four-wheeling, moving cattle, desert camping, watching basketball and being with his family. George was a member of the National Guard for six years.
George died May 10, 2013, at University Hospital in Aurora after a lengthy illness. He was 61.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kay; his daughter, Hollie (Jay) Dietrich; his sons, George Jason (Jenny) Evans, Clay (Tanya) Evans and Robert Evans, all of Baggs; his grandchildren Peyton, Kendal, Kami, Jaydence, Kameron, Karter, Kylie, Kenzie, Kelton, Aspen and Easton; his mother, Norma Evans, of Baggs; his sister Roxene Foster, of Fort Collins; his brother, Jack (Karen) Evans, of Baggs; and his mother-in-law, Delores Jones, of Baggs.
George was preceded in death by his father, John; sister Marie; and father-in-law, Robert Jones.
A funeral service was held May 16, 2013, at the Little Snake River School in Baggs. Interment followed in the Baggs Cemetery.
