Pat Doolin was born on July 19, 1928 in North English, Iowa, the youngest child of Stephen and Ida May (Mattison) Doolin. She was raised in Iowa until she was four years old at which time her family moved to the Great Divide area of northwest Colorado. Pat attended the country schools in the area through the eighth grade.
She married Arthur Brannan on December 22, 1946 in Craig. They became the parents of their only son Gary in 1947.
Pat worked along side her husband on the ranch and enjoyed every minute of that.
She was also very fond of her many cats and loved visiting with people. Following the death of her husband in 1992, Pat traveled extensively around the US with her sister, Thelma.
Pat married Roger DeJong on May 26, 2004 at the Maybell Park and they have been companions since that time.
Pat died on Sunday, December 16 at her home in Lay following a lengthy illness. She was 84.
Pat is survived by her husband, Roger DeJong, of Lay; her son, Gary, and his wife, Diane Brannan, of Craig; her grandchildren, Tonya, and her husband, Paul Meiman, of Wellington, Colo.; Tammy and her husband, Jon Goza, of Loma, Colo.; and Tia Brannan of Fruita, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur; and her sisters, Thelma Whicker and Zada White.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services were held on Friday, December 21 at the Grant Mortuary Chapel with Linda Taylor officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Maybell Community Bible Church in care of Grant Mortuary.
