Oak Creek voters elect town trustees

Jim Patterson

Oak Creek voters on Tuesday re-elected incumbent town trustees Kelly McElfish and Wendy Gustafson, while choosing challenger Daniel Gosnell to replace incumbent trustee William "Bill" Auer, according to unofficial election results released by Oak Creek town administrator and clerk Mary Alice Page-Allen.

Voters also re-elected Oak Creek Mayor Nikki Knoebel, who was running unopposed.

By Tuesday's unofficial tally, McElfish led with 50 votes, followed by Gosnell with 49, Gustafson with 40 and Auer with 38.

Page-Allen stressed the results reported Tuesday are unofficial, noting there remain four outstanding overseas ballots that may be returned through April 13 and could potentially change the outcome of the race.

Since only two votes separated Gustafson and Auer, the four outstanding overseas votes could tip the balance in Auer's favor.
