Boulder-based band The Motet plays an acid jazz, funk and Afro-Cuban rhythms at The Wolf Den Tavern, 703 Lincoln Ave. downtown. No cover before 10 p.m. 21 and older only. The six-piece band incorporates Cuban, Brazilian and African rhythms while playing off their influences Lonnie Smith, Marvin Gaye, Grant Green and James Brown. The Motet consists of founder Dave Watts on drums, Scott Messersmith on percussion, Jans Ingber on lead vocals and percussion, Michael Tiernan on guitar, Matt Spencer on bass and Greg Raymond on keyboard.
