Remixer, producer and DJ Jon Bishop of San Diego, Calif., spins at Levelz, 1860 Ski Time Square Building E 21 and older only. His style of mixing hard house, progressive house and tech-house is what Bishop calls “Nu-NRG.” Bishop recently released his second album on ICU Records, “Global Hardhouse,” with a hit “I’m in Control,” voted single of the month in the UK’s Wax Magazine. Bluegrass band Little Laura and The Brew Glass Boys open for American roots band Tony Furtado Band at Levelz, 1860 Ski Time Square Building E 21 and older only. Furtado’s band sets the stage with American roots consisting of blues, jazz, rock, Appalachian folk and Celtic melodies and adds their own blend of improvisation, melody and rhythm to form New American Roots music. The four-piece band includes Furtado on banjo/slide guitar, Gawain Matthews on electric guitar, Myron Dove on electric bass (who played with Robin Ford and Santana) and Aaron Johnston on drums (who continues to play with Commotion and Angry Marshall Band).
