The second annual Night of Hope & Healing fundraiser and awareness event will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Old Town Pub in downtown Steamboat Springs with music, food, drinks and a silent auction hosted by nonprofit Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide.
Organizers encourage community members to “come together to honor those we’ve lost and to prevent future suicides in our community.”
“Let’s raise awareness for mental health and the important work REPS does in the Yampa Valley in a positive, supportive and inclusive setting,” event organizers say. “Sharing our stories of how suicide has impacted our lives reduces stigma and ultimately saves lives.”
Attendees impacted by suicide are asked to bring a photograph of their lost loved ones to honor them on an “Honor Wall” at the event.
Scholarship tickets are available for people who would like to attend but are experiencing financial hardship. Donations of silent auction items are still being accepted. Tickets are $100 and are available online at nwcosuicideprevention.com. For more information: repssteamboat@gmail.com
