Friends of the Routt Backcountry is hosting a ski art show Nov. 29 to Dec. 3, the week before the Backcountry Ball, at Centennial Hall. The art will be auctioned off during the Backcountry Ball, which will be held Dec. 4.

Volunteers, food needed for community dinner
Volunteers and prepared food donations are needed for the annual community Thanksgiving Dinner to be held Thursday, sponsored by Routt County United Way, Vectra Bank and the Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. Food Service Department. Vectra Bank is looking for people to stuff and bake turkeys and make gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetables and other side dishes. To donate prepared food, call 870-4212. Christmas event to be held in downtown Hayden
The town of Hayden is presenting an evening of “Christmas Spirit and Community Harmony” at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 at “The Tree” at Fourth Street and Jefferson Avenue in downtown Hayden. There will be a candlelight service, refreshments and a visit from Santa Claus. The event is sponsored by the Hayden Recreation Board.
North Routt book fair will be Sunday and Monday
The North Routt Community Charter School will hold its annual book fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at the Hahn’s Peak Cafe. Scholastic Books and Epilogue Book Co. are partnering to provide books. Refreshments, baked goods and crafts also will be for sale.
Bereavement support group sponsored by VNA
The holidays are quickly approaching. For those who have experienced the death of a loved one, this can be a painful time of year.
The Visiting Nurse Association is sponsoring a bereavement support/education group called “Handling the Holidays.” Anyone suffering from the death of a loved one is invited to attend.
The group will meet from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays at the offices of the Visiting Nurse Association. The group will meet through Dec. 20.

Crafters, artisans sought for Hayden Holiday Bazaar
Crafters and artisans are sought to participate in Hayden’s Holiday Bazaar on Dec. 4, a fund-raiser for the Rocking ‘A’ Scholarship fund.
