Rabbit Ears Pass closes Wednesday afternoon

Rabbit Ears Pass was closed for about two hours on Wednesday afternoon because of inclement weather and a jack-knifed semi-trailer.

The pass closed between Steamboat Springs and Muddy Pass at about 2 p.m. and reopened at about 4:15 p.m.

Nancy Shanks, a public relations manager for the Colorado Department of Transportation, said a jack-knifed semi-trailer was involved. Conditions on the pass were snowy, icy and snowpacked, she said.
